Tony Caffey
Former Senior Pastor Harvest Decatur
Tony Caffey served as Sr. Pastor of Harvest Bible Chapel Decatur since 2010. Tony came to Christ at age 5 at a chapel service at his Christian school in Austin, Texas. During college in East Texas, he felt a call to ministry that led him to Illinois. After marrying the love of his life, Sanja, he moved up to Chicago, Illinois for seminary where he earned an Master of Divinity degree from Moody Bible Institute, and later a PhD in Old Testament studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. In addition to serving as Senior Pastor of Harvest Decatur, Tony is an Adjunct Professor for Moody Bible Institute teaching classes in theology and OT studies.
Tony’s favorite verse is Romans 12:1-2.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Tony and Sanja have one son, Alastair. As a family they love doing things together including playing sports, watching movies, traveling together, singing, and playing games. As far as sports goes, Tony is particularly fond of the University of Texas (Hook’em Horns), the San Antonio Spurs, and the Denver Broncos. His favorite food is steak.
